Holidays!

 Today is Monday the end of my school holiday sadly, But I had a great time off school! The first week we would go to the park everyday and come back to play games. We loved our days we played together on board games and online, Our favorite equipment on the play grounds were the flying fox!  

When we'd come back we normally play roblox and minecraft. Over all I had a really good holiday but I would skip out on some days to go to the park. Thanks for reading and comment donw below if you have time, See you in the next blog post!

Nutrients!

 Hello bloggers! Today in lockdown I was learning about nutrients, carbs, fats and zinc. We learnt the zinc can heal open wounds and protiens is a good source of nutrients. Also carbs should make up of 45-61 percent of your daily meal and protien is a must have for a daily mean or we would all get sick, Speaking about that carbs fight diseases! If we overdosed on them we would be at risk of obeseity, heart diseases and weight gain. Thanks for reading and see you in the next blog! Also comment if you have time.

How has the ancients Olympics changed from the modern?

Ohayōgozaimasu or Goodmorning hito! Today your going to learn how the ancient Olympics changed from the modern Olympics.

The whole of the Te waka ako syndicate including me have been working on Olympic reading work such as an Olympic DLO, Standing for Digital learning object. Also on one of three focusing question which were "What is happeneding for NZ at the 2021 Toyko Olympics, "How have the Olympic Games changed from the Ancient Games to the Modern Games to the Present Day Games" and "What makes up the important feature of the summer Olympics. How to play tag! Procedure text

A while ago, about 9 days, we started procedural writing! The procedure was about a cultural game, mine was about tag. I was one of the first to finish and I got it checked 6 times by different teachers and first try all of them aproved. I even made extras like objectives and stuff like that. We had like 4 sessions to finish but I finished in the 2nd one. I was pretty proud of it and all but I really thought I could do better. I had to make myself VERY specific or the game wouldn't make any sense. I asked the teacher if we could follow my instructions and try to play the game and she said we can do it tomorrow but WE NEVER DID. I also wrote about a different game but then later scrapped it and then it came again I got an idea then scrapped it.

After I finished the teacher got me to cast the doc on the Tv to use it is an example for the rest of the class. I was pretty steamed off because it turns out I wasn't the one listening is what my teacher said except I was on the side of the TV so I wouldn't know what was on it.

STEM Week Waikowhai Student Led Toolkits

 On Friday the 11th of June we had student led toolkits. Basicly Student led toolkits were based on STEM which standing for Science, Technolagy, Engeneering, Mathmatics. Also a thing were students from the senior classrooms had to present some kind of education app or thing to teach the class and show to the rest of the school. I was picked as a presenter an the thing I chose was ..... DRONES! Ta-da! I had a team of 3, the team consisted of me of course, my best friend Masi and my other friend Nerys. We were really hyped about using the drones and letting other people fly them, but soon enough would I realize this was a HUGE mistake. After that we picked each toolkit we wanted, We had three choices on each session and we had three sessions. Pretty weird right? 

The first toolkit I went too was my own. I went to the hall because thats where it was. Too my surprise there were 9 drones! We had about 15 people in our toolkit but only 13 came, sadly. Blah blah blah skip forward a bit because the rest was gonna make you fall asleep. I taught them how to use the Drones and thehy caught on quickly but unfortunitly the drones stopped working, I tried one for my self and THE DRONES CRASHED INTO THE WALL!! Everyone goes Ughhh why'd you do that? But they should have known  I wouldn't do that to my favorite drone. so, I knew they were broken. After that we just fused with our rivals Spheros, I wasn't pleased with this fusion but we had to make the sacrafice. We joined with Spheros and we actually got along?! Also here a picture of me and my team.

Next was my second toolkit was Piskel art! I had alot of fun there too! I made a pizza and 3 mushrooms. Very nice pictures too, I have some pictures at the bottom! We had so much time to create our things but I scrapped 2 ideas when they were half why done and I don't know why. After that we got to share, I was AMAZED on how people created such good art in such little time. One pixel art was A MOVING CAR and it looked soooo good! I had a good time there and I would finish my ones off but im too lazy to do so. Here's a picture of my mushrooms and my pizza! They weren't fully finished with the backrounds.

Third toolkit I did Brainbox! A box filled with bits and pieces to create things like a speaker, A fan and a  on and off switch that actually works! I arived there late and skipped the inroduction so I had no idea how to work this thing I just stuck pieces and pieces and eventually got it! I made alot of stuff with it, like a fan that spins and then flys up and blasts in the direction its pointing in, a speaker that can acually play the radio, then a lightbulb. I had so much fun there! But as I already told you I arived late so I didn't really get a turn or a play. I really enjoyed it there because it was a challenge! My little mind needed something to be puzzeled with and this was the thing! Sorry but there were no pictures for brainbox, again sadly.

Overall this day was fantastic, I wish it could have lasted longer. I think the school should do this 2 times a year. Atleast we ended things off with a bang. Spark Arena School Trip!

 On Monday the 17 of the 5th I was filled with exitment because we were going on a school trip! Soon after I arrived all the year sixes lined up got ready and marched off into the bus. I sat with my friend who was like a grouch of the bus he said "Don't do that!" "Stop it!" and stuff like that, I didn't really listen to him and carried on waving at people going by. When we arrived it looked >AMAZING< I really liked when we got in because I felt so alive also it had a weird vibe to it. I saw many things in there like a drum set, a trumpet sorta thing and a stage with all the microphones sound speakers and banners.

Eventually I found out we were going to the happy place! :D Also when we got through the doors and went down the hall way what I saw was truely something to be grateful for. There was a giant... ball pit. Luckily I was one of the first to go jump in I WAS SO LUCKY! We got through some more doors to see a giant cookie we could put our faces through, An upside down room where we went on a hand stand a happy place sign where I leaned against and a few more. The last one was so cool because It was basicly a reverse vacuum cleaner and there was SO much confeti flying around the room! Some got in my face and it sort of tickled. After that we came to another room but it had cool merch like T-shirts, pants, bandana and alot of others. There was this other room but it was plain boring I mean it just had some clouds! We took a picture next to it though so it was ok.

After that we tip toed like ninjas down the stairs. Well atleast some of us while the rest were stomping elephants. After that we came downstairs and got into groups and split up. I was in a group where we were supposed to play some weird instruments and grab a mouth piece. After that we had a competition about who could play the longest and loudest I didn't win though. Later the group and I came to the online music place, I didn't really get much of a turn on the ipads or drum and when it was my go my maths teacher STOLE MY TURN! I was mad and sad but a thing that cheered me up was my friends singing a weird made up song and baby shark.   

Van Gogh Exhibition

I was having a BLAST! But  it gets beter more in the blog. So we go into a dark room and all everyone can see is flashing lights from behind a wall. We look at a few paintings and speeches then the teachers took a picture of us next to a painting. Then we got up and went through a hallway and turned right. What we saw was truly breath taking, The pictures were giant and changing, moving, alive almost! We sat down on a space where a projector was playing its film while we were sitting, When it played it looked like we had a weird disease and here's a picture!

Lunch/Ending

Kindly they provided us lunch! In each packet there was an apple juice bottle, a sandwich an apple and a big bag of ready salted chips. Their so generous and I think everyone can agree. The person who organised this all was Brendon Hines the C.E.O of Spark arena. Anyway I think this experience was once in a lifetime. thanks for reading and go comment if you have time! Student Led Toolkits 2021

 On the 20th of may a team and I went to Owairaka Primary, The team was made of Joise, Zara, Caleb, Cole, Mason and I headed over to the primary and caught up to the others. Then we walked for a bit arived at the gate and went inside the hall! It was way bigger then I imagined, Mr Margetts had a big speech and started pointing out where all the classrooms where. I had only went to one classroom and after that I practically knew where everything was.   

My first session was Minecraft coding, You have to go https://code.org/minecraft to play. First you select you code for exaple (spawn sheep) and drag it to you code, Then it will connect to your starting code then when you press start or run, After that it will do what ever you put in the code area like spawing a sheep. You have to complete challenges the game throws at you and over come them and once at the end you may play around, Spawn what ever and do stuff to your hearts content.  

Next I headed over to Animations with google slides, To make one open a google slides in your drive you can do that by pressing new, Then add a backround, a character and a story. Once you have your slide copy and paste a new one and move your character slightly then repeat this process until you have your story! But make sure its interesting.

Soon after my last break I hurried over to the presentation kahoot. First they talked about how to use it and blah blah blah but I already knew how to, I started making my kahoot until my chrome book died but then we had a kahoot I charged it and I won! Anyway how you play is there are two modes someone makes a kahoot and you play it or you make it and someone else plays it. You can also choose a kahoot to your liking because there are thousands of different kahoots all with different question! You have to answer the questions right to gain points whoever has the highest points wins. Heres a link and start creating!

About at 1:00 we came back into the hall and two people who were Fusion interns started talking about electronics, Games and stuff like that. I was really interesting in it because I've always liked technology. Maybe one day I'll be a full time Fusion worker.
