Slip And Slide!

Hello and welcome bloggers, This week on Thursday our teachers were going to take us on a fun time by setting up the slip and slide!! First we had to do work but not just any work boring work! "AGH"  We had fruit break (or brain break after. Then we had to do the same work as before! After we got to do a digital  game called santa tracker! "fun!" We went out for morning tea after santa tracker and here comes my favorite part! The bell went and we raced back to class. Then we split into 2 groups then we made this plan one group would go on the slip and slide and the other in the pool and then switch over. Guess what!! We got the slip and slide!! I was out of breath I couldn't belive it! Everyone raced to the top and waited and waited and waited. It took a long time because we needed to cover the covers with soap and dish washing liquid. Then SLIP! I was on my knee's but it didn't really go fast so I stopped doing it on them. The next time I went on my back and kept turning here's a picture.
If you have any free time maybe you could go down and comment on this post!!

The Tortoise

Good morning! This week on Monday I was so shocked to find something at the school on a patch of grass.  I was just thrilled, excited, stunned but most of all determined to get this little guy home. We found a Turtle!, a Red Eared Terrapin and we found its diet is any fruit or vegetables and stuff like that. I was a bit confused though just having my friend find a Turtle at our school and he was too afraid to pick it up. Even though I knew how to pick it up I hesitated just to see how it reacts. I tapped lightly on his shell and he popped inside, so I place my hands on each side of his shell and gradually lifted him up. I was amazed I was carrying a Turtle without any expericence! Here's a picture with me and Terry the Turtle! Anyway if you have some time to spare you could go and comment on my blog. Signing off!

Biking

SCREEEECH! The sound of a brake be activated. Today was big foot bike training. I was really excited to have these people come to school and teach bike skills. We did laps across the court and a little bit of sorting out. I was with my best friends Masi and Jaimie. I was really hyped with energy I couldn't contain myself.

I have a few skills I learnt like how to pedal really slow and going in small circles. I liked it but what I really like was that the couch had a sence of humor.  She was really funny and cool. I had a really good time there but it didnt last long. I only had two sesions that equaled two days. I was pretty sad when they left and we had to do MATHS and READING! How boring.

I think anyone would think that biking is better then maths and reading. I also think that the teachers enjoyed biking because they did it too. well thats in my opinon. Whats yours? Blog ya later and maybe if you have any time to spare you coud go and comment!

I also saw my maths teacher grab a bike from the stack and shoot off!

Heres some pictures from biking.

Skateboarding

THUMP! The sound of a skateboard stopping by a foot . I thought this was going to be another boring Friday with maths, reading and writing but no. Instead we did skate boarding! I was quite nervous. I never really skateboarded so I thought I this was going to be the day one who needed help on everything but I didn't need any help! As soon as we were let out freely skating I was off my feet and on my skateboard. It was all happy and things until I can across a huge moutain of nervous people just waiting for someone to go. The real form was a ramp. Dun dun duuun! but before we get into that I want to tell you what we learnt.

What we learnt:
As soon as we got out we got into a line like the line of skateboards infront of us. The first move we learnt was to balance on the skateboard. It was petty boring shortly after they said a bunch of things and then let us go. I was so good at it ateast thats what I thought. We got split up into a group and their were 2 groups the one who has all the people that think they can do it and one that c
an't. I thought I could do it so I joined that group.

There we learnt the Tik taks, 50/50s, Not letting the skateboard go and playing games like "What's up wolf"?, free style, what the nose is and tail the nose is the front of the board and the tail is the back and not crashing into each other. Other things we learnt was lunges, balancing, touching the nose with our hands, to push with one foot and to skate and stay in one spot with our eyes closed.

Some poeple had a fixed mind set and other a grouth. Alot of people were postive too which I liked I also had a good aditude. Not much people were confident. I was though because I was having alot of fun and learning new skill. And it was alot of exersize and alot of people were encouraging me.

Anyway back to the ramp. First try, I stood up looking around all I could see was my friends cheering me on and looking back at the ramp. I placed my board down and I was breathing heavy and STOP I kicked down my board and started to slide down. After a few seconds I tilted back and the last thing I knew was me on the ground and with a grazed arm. Still I didnt give up I was determined to concer my foe. Second try I was on it ready to slide then STOMP! I slid down and started to be more confident. Then SLIP! I fell right on my back I didn't get grazed or anything just the impact.

The last and third time I was sad and nervous that I couldn't do it but I was determind to finishedwhat I had started. I place my board down an got it lined up I rejected one of the couches help I was too confident to see what trouble I had got yself into. I started to hesitate  Then my friends started to help out by cheering me on. I then felt a adrinlane rush in my blood so STOP! I slid down then CRASH! I was disapointed and it made a huge cut in my knee. But the ramp might have won the battle but not the war. Mark my words ramp I will slide down you I wispeared into the wind. If that's not showing a growth mindset then I don't know what is?

I tried to do it at morning tea I came back with my board prepared of all the dangers of riding down the ramp. I go inside and just have to watch and feel my knee aching while seeing my classmates or roommate things skate.

Anyway thanks for reading blog you later! If you have any spare time you could always come and comment. Thats only if you want to. bye!

Production Rehearses And The Show

 Hello bloggers!

On Monday the second of November all of the seniors from Waikowhai Primary went on a long walk to Waikowhai intermediate. We got given the chance to borrow their hall for a whole week! We used those days to rehearse our production. The show was called Jasmine and Aladdin. I was given the role of a magic fish who teaches Aladin how to breathe under water. It wasn't the best role but I had to stick with it. That  was hard being teased and being called names so at one point I wanted to quit but it looked really fun so in the end I just tagged along.

On Tuesday the third of November the whole school went down to perform their dance. Every class had a different dance and that was really cool! Even we had one but of course it was the best. I was really excited for the nights and I just couldn't wait! I was rushing everyone at my house "Hurry up we're going to be late"! I was nervuos and excited. Before the real show we had to go to the changing roon which was back stage.

I was disapointed that my costume look weird and on top of that there were needles that stabbed me everytime I danced! I was not happy until it was my turn on stage I didn't get stage fright for some reason and I just did it. I thought it would be really scary performing in front of a real audience but no it wasn't If I ever get the chance to perform something like that I will gladly take the offer!

eOn Wednesday the fourth of November we had our actual show! But there's not much to talk about but on Thursday I forgot this weird hat thing and everyone started to ask me after I got off stage. "Where's your hat?" and stuff like that it was pretty annoying.

On Friday it was our last show and the most boring I just couldn't wait to get home. Three days in a row at six o'clock we had to be there which was dreadful. I should have been playing games or getting ready for bed like brushing my teeth or just playing on my computer. At the end I was happy spending time with my friends and being on stage performing. I was relieved and stressed.

After I got home I just flopped on a chair and started to load up my computer. "Phew what a day"!  Blog you later and thanks for reading!! Here's some pictures of the people who performed the dances!

Wonder Project

Hello bloggers In Te Waka Ako we hae been lucky enough to have Sihang a member of the wonder project! We started to talk about how the pressureized water works. I felt really smart because I was anwsering alot of questions and I got a certifacate for thinking like an engineer. When it was about 20 inutes to one o,clock the teachers decided to take a test run and I was chosen as the team captain! We got all the things ready and started to build but the pump wasn't really working. So we used another pump and it worked it flew like 2 meteres! But I really enjoyed it plus one of my roles was the test pilot so it works out. Here are some images!

Ok bye bye bloggers!

Fim Festival

Hola viewers, before and after lockdown we have been working on a film to enter into the Ako Hiko Film Festival! Me and my friends/group includes me, Angelina, Masi, Hossanna, Jaimie and Brittany.  We have about 7 scenes but we muck around in almost all of them. My favorite part is when we do the soccer scene because in my family we all love soccer. I like to hang out with the group and just have fun.

We all love soccer I try to learn new moves but I can't practise because its always rainng or wet from previous rain which makes me sad. Sometimes we take candy and share when we finish a scene its great. I am pretty happy with my group we almost finished so its going great. I think we are going to get summited to St Lukes theater so its a BIG deal.  Well our stop spoiling this now. Goodbye!

Tenis Trouble

Hola viewers,
On Wednesday the 5th of August, Manukau played tennis. We got given a number from 1-4 if you got a specific number like 2 you would have to go to a line with your group. In my opinion I loved the tennis lessons that our tennis teacher taught and he would always be postive. Unfortunately it was our last session, I will miss our tennis coach Wayne. But everytime that a old sport ends a new sport gets put in the timetable. The first sport I did at this school was squash, I was back in middle school when I did it. After soccer came along and stole sqaush's position - I love soccer still to his day. Sorry but I unfortunately didn't get any photos of us doing it. Adios Bloggers!

Matariki

Matariki

Matariki is a time when you get together with friends and family. It's also a sign of the maori new year. Matariki is a cluster of seven-nine  stars the best time to see the cluster is near dawn I predict and hour before dawn. They can be called different things depending on where you live in New Zealand we sometimes call it the seven sisters but maybe in Russia they would call it Pleiades. There are also a variety of tales on how matariki was formed. One of these myths is where Ranginui   the sky farther and Papatūānuku the Earth mother were separated by their children the god of the winds Tāwhirimātea became so angry he tore out their eyes and threw them into the heaven's its a weird myth but Matariki literly means eyes of god or little eyes.

As a celebration of Matariki we did some rotations around the classrooms the activatys were baking fried bread the next one was doing stop motion with playdough. We made myths and my one was how Maui pulled the sun to make days longer you had to work as a team. My team was Genevive,Aysha and Jaimie we all worked together only to make the video but not the auido.

In Te Waka Ako did science experiments. We were given a task. The task was to write a recount of what picture we chose and write about it. I chose this on because it was pretty interesting and amazing. If you want to check it out then a link is on the picture. The result ended up in a rainbow coloured water. But after a few minutes it started to turn brown and merging together. Like in the picture. But it was a very slow process and the teachers threw it away.  Blog you later.

Digital Toolkits

                                                                                  2020 Digital Toolkits

Ni hao bloggers. On 17/6/2020 I was a presenter at the digital toolkits. I was really nervous because this was the first time about 16 schools have ever done [digital]toolkits and I was one of the six presenters of waikowhai primary school. Students had about 4 choices of which google meet they wanted to join and learn about a digital tool. There was sandpit time where we could test out the tool. The toolkits contained about up to 300 people so it was nerve wrecking but I got to do 2 other google meets from other schools. I picked piskel. I picked it because I wanted to learn more about it. I will put a link if you want to have a go Piskel link the second one I did was word cloud generator I will do the same ad put a link word cloud. the reason I picked word cloud was because it looked fun and easy. Heres some pictures of my word cloud and me doing my google meet. Because the piskel art wasn't working couldn't put in a picture.
